Physique competitors generally train with less time resting between sets and they do not need to lift heavy weights. Physique competitors will utilise methods such as supersets, drop sets and pyramid training which burn far more calories than lifting heavy weights and will increase metabolism. The goal is to create a lean and defined skeletal muscle mass which is evenly distributed and semetrical. The goal is not to build as much muscle as the skeleton will allow, but instead create a more "normal" look when compared to muscle body builders. The lifestyle of a pgysique model does not require "in and out of season" diets although this is not set in stone.
